In the past few years, I've enjoyed watching hot bands come forward and deliver great music and lyrics that you sense are uncompromising. Xalt joins the ranks. This is the first time that I've heard this band, and what I heard is quite good! The band is very tight, with impressive guitar work. The song that really stands out with me is side one, cut one--"Standing". It comes straight at you and delivers! Other songs, such as "Heart Of Stone" and "History" are excellent rockers also. "Unconditional Love" is the ballad, which has great hooks, but I just feel that it falls short during the chorus. Rather than a big flowing sound, the back ups cut short and left me dangling. Oh well, it's still good! I also very much enjoyed the last song, called "Lord, Lord", which the guys jam on acoustic guitars and have a great time...and I believe you will too with this great effort by Xalt.
