Strong masculine vocals corner and push radio-friendly modern rock grooves. Production plays some odd tricks, where a lot of times the mix unveils a dirty bar rock tin, and then, at less often others, molds Godsmack-like hooks perfectly. "Plastic Crowns" is the standout number, with a catchy chorus, and a consistent song structure and mix. While Zealous have a lot of room to grow in their general song writing, there is really nothing keeping one or two of their songs off the radio, other than the production inconsistencies and all-out botches. Vocals go flat all of a sudden, guitars sound out of tune and obnoxious, and layers feel separated by a thin hum. But, again, sometimes they don't. Weird.
