    The Kry is a Christian pop-rock band formed by Quebec City brothers who moved to Albuquerque in the late 1980s and began playing in a church youth ministry. Their 1992 debut, I'll Find You There, used high-energy rhythms, memorable choruses and a clean but gritty vocal style often compared with Bryan Adams. The band was melodic rather than heavy, with lyrics drawn directly from Christian teaching. You broadened the approach through jangly guitar, funk accents and arena-rock arrangements, while retaining the power-ballad side of the earlier material. By What About Now, the sound had become more varied, moving from symphonic strings into world-beat percussion, new-wave guitar and heavier rock without abandoning its singalong quality. The songs remained direct, devotional and accessible.

    Pete Nelson left in early 2000 to enter full-time youth ministry in Colorado, ending the original trio after nearly a decade. Jean-Luc and Yves Lajoie replaced him with guitarist Danny Donnelly and bassist David Roy, expanded the band to a four-piece, and moved from Freedom Records to Metro One. The new lineup made Undone in 2002, but its polished production drew divided reactions, with some listeners finding the writing predictable and others responding to its tight playing and worshipful songs. By God of Infinite Worth in 2004, the group had contracted to the Lajoie brothers and adopted a more explicitly worship-oriented format. The Kry later continued with French-language work, including Peut-Etre in 2007, followed by You Shine in 2009 and Let Your Kingdom Come in 2015.
