The Seattle-based Ambitious Career Woman has a three-song CD demo circulating that smacks of filthy, dangerous post-punk rancor. Think Fugazi, Clash, Raft, Murder City Devils, Roadside Monument, Don Cab, and Slint. Or don't. Whatever. These kids are going to blow up your face either way. The first track has a vicious intro that gyrates along a wicked bass line into a back room snarl. Track 2 has a Nobstreater mathrock Spaghetti Western quality to it, and then takes off into a torrid Ian Mackaye circa In on the Kill Taker thing. Track 3 has almost a rockabilly edge to it, but that is quickly buried under some more snarling and noodling.
