When I think of New England and music, I think about mosh pits and hardcore. I don't think about Arab on Radar. Their obscure music style doesn't seem to fit into the main vein of what usually comes out of New England or anywhere else for that matter. Arab on Radar is like no other band I have ever heard so for me to describe them is impossible. They sound like their style comes from outer space. Off beat tempo and swirling guitars and high pitched vocals control the soundwaves.
The Stolen Singles is a collection of their songs from various 7" EP's and splits and also three songs from their demo. Thus this album spans from 1995 to 2002 and is a good buy for a fan of the band because most of their 7" EP's and splits are out of print and so is their demo. This would probably tickle the fancy of those who are fans of bands like The Dismemberment Plan and The Locust. I think it is pretty rad to put out a record like this for their fans and I smile upon it. Although it might not be for me, I respect the notion and the actions.
