The debut single from Northern Ireland's Ascension is a pleasant acoustic track about the evidence for God in creation, with plenty of hooks provided by a driving acoustic guitar and distinctive vocals thanks to the singer's strong Irish accent.
The two extra tracks aren't quite so strong, "Word On the Street" sees the acoustic guitar replaced by a simple electric guitar backing which doesn't have quite the same impact as the initial track. "Only Jesus" has an interesting bass line but again isn't quite so dynamic as the lead track.
All three tracks are from Ascension's forthcoming album debut, Trendy to the Roots? and if the rest of that album follows the example of Everything In Nature Cries it'll be well worth a listen.
