The debut EP from Barren Cross is totally hot! This is some of the most powerful metal for Jesus. The first song, "Believe," starts off with a loud pounding drum intro and jumps into a modern day anthem. The singing on this song is inspired, along with the song "Just A Touch." "Just a touch of His hand, and you'll be he-e-e-e-a-l-ed!" This singer's voice projects so much emotion into the song. The guitars have that bite of distortion that the big-name secular bands use so well. The comparisons with Iron Maiden don't stop with the vocals with Barren Cross. The bass runs are displaying the solo-ability of the bassist. On a scale of 1 to 10, I'd have to give this one an 8 because of its power and skill in song composing. Most of all it receives an 8 because if I gave it a 10, we would expect too much from the next album. Praise God for Barren Cross! If you would like to order this totally awesome album, do it fast. They just signed with Star Song and will remix the songs (They don't need it) and add four more on the album. This EP is available on limited edition blue vinyl (Only for the next month or so). Albums and cassettes are $7.00 plus $2.75 for albums and $1.50 for cassettes for postage.
