Barren Cross, one of the baddest heavy metal groups of all time, has released a live album, and this dude totally rocks! Titled "Hotter Than Hell Live," Barren Cross shows the world what they do best, and that's crankin' out the best straight-ahead power metal that's ever been written. I can't help but believe Barren Cross is truly the best of the best (It sounds like you like this album, Steve - ed). In my opinion, they totally, single-handedly could and should be dominating the secular metal charts as well. My question is: Why haven't they received the publicity, the attention, or the respect that they've earned and most definitely deserve? Basically, this is a true representation of being hated by the world for serving Jesus Christ. It'll cost you your life. This 14-song release was recorded during the "Atomic Arena" tour, but has some of the band's original hits from the "Rock For The King" days as well. Barren Cross is famous for complex time changes, usually involving acoustic and electric guitar leads, and there are plenty enough for you to drool over on this one; as is evident in "Close To The Edge", "King Of Kings", and "In The Eye Of The Fire". They gift us with a rendition of "Opus To The Third Heaven", and a special get-down-and-jam session centered around the song "King Jesus". Also, plenty of exhortations and encouragement between songs as well. As a whole, production quality and the sound mix for this live album is exceptional. Simply put, you're missing out if you don't get it. So hurry up and go get you a copy of the killer concert, and keep up the prayers for Barren Cross, because they're definitely one of our best.
