WOW this CD is metal! Not thrash, not speed, not death, not black, just good old heavy metal. It blew me away when I first played this disc. 80's metal days brought up to speed that's what this is.

If you don't know Blacksheep consists mainly of Willie Basse who is a big time LA producer, who has had musical projects all through his career and owns his own studio and gets to rub elbows with a lot of LA secular bands.

Blacksheep is a band of his that played heavily during the 80's and shook LA during that time. Now they are back with this 4-song CD that simply kicks BUTT! Musically this CD is TIGHT, having pretty much all veteran musicians who have played in bands like The Scorpions, Kingdom Come, The Cult, and King Cobra.

The lyrics never get blatant. I've not heard "God, Jesus or Christ" in any of the songs. However it's still pretty obvious what's being said with lyrics like:

Cause you know He is alive
    Love Warrior
And you know He will arrive
    Love Warrior

The first two songs are very reminiscent of the mid 80's styled metal, while the latter two really start to throw in the crunchy guitars I love so much. This is something that any true blue metal head needs to check into.

Like Stone Angel, this band plays in the mainstream market and has a few things about it that makes the believer scratch their head. Musically, we're treated to some high quality melodic metal. The guitar playing by Jeff Northrup and Marshall Harrison is phenomenal. The vocals of Willie Basse are fantastic, too. This band would have been…
