I've been a Bloodgood fan since their debut release way back in '86, and the one thing that has always impressed me about the band is their lyrical maturity. They've never compromised their stand for Christ, and their music has always proven them to be one of the best in Christian metal. With the release of their fifth studio album, All Stand Together, though, Bloodgood has put themselves in a class all their own. While not quite as heavy as Detonation or their self-titled debut, All Stand Together is definitely their best effort to date. This 12-song tape kicks off with a real hot song called "S.O.S. (Save Our Souls)", and from there goes through a variety of different songs like you from ballads like "Say Goodbye", radio-oriented songs like "Help Me", and real hot jammers like "Kingdom Come" and "Escape From The Fire". Bloodgood signing to a new label was apparently a real smart thing to do. The production is excellent. Les Carlsen's voice sounds better than it ever has, Paul Jackson shows a lot of maturity with the guitar, and the bass... Well, what can you say, Mike's one of the best. Even keyboards were used on the album, but with the Sacred Warrior approach—they're only to enhance, not dominate. Hats off to guest keyboardist Tim Heintz. The only downer about All Stand Together is that I wish it could have been a little heavier. While the song "I Want To Live In Your Heart" is good, you'd swear that they got the tapes mixed up and put Foreigner's "I Want To Know What Love Is" on by accident. Thank you, Bloodgood. You've always been a real boost to me in my walk with the Lord, and with All Stand Together you've shown me that, when times get tough, we should all do just that.
