Let me start off by saying how much I enjoyed the sweet purple rain font in front of two the gentlemen with that trademark Air Supply stare on the cover of the album. I knew these guys were about to show me a good time. It wasn't long, however, before I stopped dancing.
To provide some thoughtful insight if you have or were thinking about purchased this album I would describe Daft punk beats narrated by an overly distorted voice that sounds something like the singer of ZZ Top if he was from Australia and wore tight pants. Oh wait ZZ Top did wear tight pants. Do you know what I mean anyway? I hope so. I thought exaggerating your voice went out of style ten years ago apparently I was wrong. Glossy keyboards and cheesy backing vocals contribute to what amounts to forty minutes of fairly uneventful, instrumentally boring club rock. It is the kind of dance music that would cause for a steady diminishing of kids on the dance floor. I can only handle so much slow thump techno in one album. Obviously it is my feeling that they have crossed way over the line. The funky bass lines and electric guitar crescendos remind me of bands like the Rapture. There is however, a much larger force missing in this work than just a cowbell. Maybe it is talent. I haven't quite decided. In their advertised praise for this album, their label boasts that the album was recorded in only four hours. Need I say more?
If you are looking for a good time alone in your car this might suit you, but if you plan on impressing your friends with how amazing your taste in music is I don't recommend this one.
