"Hey, I'm cool! I've been into these guys since they played the New Band Showcase at C-Stone '99!" Such is the life of modern day music fans who want to stake claim to all the cool unknown bands before they become tomorrow's trends.
While Calibretto 13 might not be that ground-breaking, they are a smart post-punk band with an undeniable songwriting talent. Think snotty punk and a Johnny Rotten pseudo British accent. If you like the way Philmore pokes at metal, Squad Five-O takes on glam rock, then take some punk-bashing fun from Calibretto 13 (even though they cover Sweet's "Ballroom Blitz"). They're like a good punk rock vitamin.

I was sure this brand of "acoustic punk" would be new and inviting to my ears, something I definitely needed. After my…
The Phantom Tollbooth 2000Reviewed by Michial FarmerCalibretto 13 may be in the running for "Most Fun Song of the Year" with "High Five," the leadoff single from their debut album for Tooth and Nail Records, Enter the Danger Brigade. For starters, it's acoustic punk (or, as their press release calls it, "alternative folk-punk," a genre painfully unmined except by the likes of The Violent Femmes). For another thing, lead singer Joseph Whiteford has…Similar sounding releases
