After much deliberation, I decided that The Smartest Monkeys can be compared to Fugazi but with faster, more experimental riffs. Some of the songs were a little rough and sounded like they could be tightened up but, being a young band, TSM only has room to grow. The band's battle cry is evident on the opening song "TSM," with "we are the smartest monkeys" being sung throughout. A different sound with a little punk attitude makes The Smartest Monkeys a must have for your indie collection
