Cast Aside plays a brutal tough guy style of hardcore that rivals bands like Terror and Hatebreed. They are straightedge and very proud of that fact. They are brutal and pretty strong in their convictions. I really don't like this style of hardcore. It's not the music or the message that deters me from liking these bands or going to their shows. It's the crowd that it attracts. Tough guy crews and kung fu kicking scenesters that all want to upstage each other and then violence usually comes around and I don't want any part of that. It's not very positive and neither is the music or lyrics.

I think Cast Aside is going to grow and have a bigger and bigger fan base as the days go on and they do deserve it. They play with conviction and stand for something that is good and right. I find that very honorable. The Struggle is proof that they are coming into their own and ready to get a piece of the brutal hardcore pie. I just don't want a slice. Give me youth crew positivity any day.

Overall this album will be big and is a good album for what it is. I like the message and the stances. The recording quality is good. The art work is nothing all that special. There is your front cover, lyric sheet, two pictures of the band, liner notes and that's about it. Good for what it is.
