Eric Campuzano's Charity Empressa offers seven more tracks of soundscapes, winged melodies, and apocalypse on The Skin Of Whippets. I have always felt that the Prayer Chain was too muddled with too many good ideas for its own good. Dissecting and extrapolating its remains is the best thing that ever happened to it. The Lassie Foundation did well with its severed pop/rock sensibilities, and Charity Empressa picks up the airy, cosmic aesthetic and expounds on it beautifully — without all those obnoxious distractions. Enthusiasts of Sigur Ros, Air, and Godspeed will surely appreciate Charity Empressa and The Skin Of Whippets.
