The Elevator Division is from Kansas City, MO and has been together with varying lineups since 1998. This release follows "Movement," which was also released independently.
When I heard that The Elevator Division had some new material out I knew I had to get it and listen. The biggest disappointment I had was that it was so short, with only four new songs and a remix. The remix by the way, is "Tempo of Three" which was released on "Movement."
Musically, the signature sound of E.D is present. Soaring vocals and tight guitar leads that weave in and out of the songs. It's hard for me to believe no one has signed these guys yet...people are missing out. My favorite song off of "What Makes You Happy" is "Blood Brothers." B.B. is a beautiful song with soft engaging guitar melodies that could melt anyone's tough guy exterior. There are some rough edges due to an independent recording, but they don't distract and the music rises above, evidence of their power.
