Strong vocals blend to create an amazing harmony along with insightful and reflective lyrics in the new FFH release Found a Place. This quartet consisting of Jeormy Deibler, Jennifer Deibler, Brian Smith, and Michael Boggs comes together once again for their sophomore release.
For this CD FFH continues down the same path with a sound that started off their debut I Want to Be Like You. Though FFH--short for Far From Home--starts off Found a Place with catchy songs that could easily be radio singles, such as 'When I Praise' and 'Found a Place,' they make an abrupt change with 'Why Do I,' a slow and peaceful song. The rest of the album is a mix between slow ballads and fast-paced, uplifting songs. Some of the best songs include 'Daniel,' 'Your Love is Life to Me' and 'I'm Not Afraid to Love You.'
One of the highlights of this CD is how the music is beautiful worship to God. FFH's songs are honest and thought provoking attempts to know God and to love Him. FFH, however, does not embark on a new musical journey, nor is there much evidence that they have grown musically or lyrically. In fact, many of the songs from Found a Place sound like songs off their debut CD. Found a Place is too much like I Want to Be Like You for it to be worth it to own. I was disappointed with this release because I did think FFH has seriously underestimated their talent by playing it safe with a familiar style. FFH is a talented band with a unique sound but they need to expand their sound, and not just continue with the same style.
