Does anyone remember power metal? It's obvious that Forgiven does, and they play it quite well. All six songs on this tape bring hope to those of us who truly love bands like Barren Cross and Eternal Ryte. Vocalist, Elijah Gomez, shows some good vocal ability, never going out of his range. The remaining band members are tight, showing that they've had lots of practice. One of my favorites was "Freedom," a tune dealing with giving up your bondage to Jesus. I recently saw Forgiven perform live at the Rockfest in Marble Falls, and believe me, this tape doesn't do them justice. I was quite surprised to see this young band shred away and hold their own against a lot of other bands. Whatever you do, don't pass this tape up!
