There is something about this CD I can't quite put my finger on. Sometimes I enjoy listening to the CD, other times I put in something different fairly quickly. I can't even decide whether or not I even like the CD. The guitars stand out to me the most on this album. They are very heavy and sound very good. The vocals seem somewhat like Godfear is trying to imitate Pantera. I think the vocals need the most improvement out of all the musical elements, although I hear that Godfear is looking for a new vocalist. The drums are average, nothing more, nothing less. Certainly this album could have been improved in many ways. I would say that the first way is a little bit more originality. Godfear's sound is far from unique. However, some parts do sound unlike anything I've heard before. I heard many good things about Godfear before I bought this CD. Some proved to be true, some didn't. If you liked the first Godfear CD, The Empty, you should really love this one. If you didn't like The Empty, don't bother using your money to purchase Pound for Pound. If I had it to do over again, I probably wouldn't buy it. One of my friends had all of my CDs and picked out random ones to listen to. This is one he picked and said he liked. This review may seem kind of vague and actually pretty much is. The only way to know for sure whether or not you will like this CD is to listen to it. You can find a sound sample at Godfear's homepage. If you like it, you should like the CD. It represents the overall sound of the CD pretty well. I'm sorry if this review isn't of much help. You will have to be the judge.

Dead Zine 1997Reviewed by the ProjectWow what an improvement. Godfear's Pound for Pound is a great album. If this album only came out earlier I wouldn't have had to knock the other one (sorry guys). This disk is that of true Pantera with a different style of vocalist. The groove is there, the guitar solos are there. The drums are groovy double bass and they make the rhythm more syncopated. The message again was really good. There…
