Groms are a thrash influenced five-piece band from Kristiandsand in Norway. Turn is their first demo recorded last summer when the band were on tour in Poland. The tape consists of four songs. There's some fast stuff with lots of rhythm changes, and slow stuff like the kind Seventh Angel did. Melodies, lyrics and production are fairly good, but there is still a way to go. More structure in the songwriting and vocal improvements and more crunch to the rhythm section are needed, and I'm quite sure that Groms will come up with a much better offering next time. Turn shows promising tendencies, but not more than just that. The band have played several live gigs lately and I have reason to believe that they have made some progress that will make their next demo far more interesting than Turn. I look forward to that one.
