Some people would rather ignore their hair rock roots, some revel in them. GS Megaphone definitely explore their HR tendencies with their new release, Out of My Mind. This album will be a long stroll down memory lane for all the early 90s rockers out there. There are some well-written songs on the album, such as "Alive," "Out of My Mind," and "Prodigal Dad" (which is a song that deals with a heartfelt issue in a real and honest way). Unfortunately, there isn't a great deal that really stands out on the album and keeps your attention besides the aforementioned tracks. I think that it will be interesting to see where GS Megaphone goes in the coming months, and how their new label Spindust (which was formed by Ray Boltz) influences their sound. One progressive and commendable thing that the label has done already is release a DVD Single featuring videos of "Out of My Mind" and "Use Me."
