Think about a "Barney" type show, but with some poppy tunes. That's what Happy Little Day and their CD, Sings the Happilonian Classics, is all about. This Evansville, IN band has a cup of 80s pop, a mix of happy thoughts, and a dash of ministry. Sprinkle in some Prince, mix thoroughly, and, "Voila," Happy Little Day ready to be served. The members claim to be from a far off magical place called "Happilonia," where they live in plastic flamingos and are 3/4" tall. Right. The upside to Happy Little Day is that they have their own style. No head-banging potential here — each song is poppy and mid-tempo. Some songs, like "Mr. Goodburger" and "How Can You Love Me If You Won't," have a little bit of rock boost. Warning: listening to Sings The Happilonian Classics will cause epileptic seizures and stunted growth.
