Last issue I reviewed Hum's You'd Prefer An Astronaut. I never reviewed this 93 Cargo release, so I thought I'd pass it along now to those who liked the RCA debut. You'll probably dig this as well, especially if You'd Prefer An Hum album more raw. It's big & ugly, dirty, sludgy guitars backed by rhino-sized bass so heavy it crunches. The drums pop & crash as well as add to the low thud in these sometimes slow, usually peppy... this is LO FI & the vocals are much more strained. That trademark "pause" is here & most of the 9 songs have a catchy, memorable hook. It's red & white & black all over, look for it.
