Huntingtons start out the CD with a new song called "Too Late". When I first put this CD in I thought they were covering the Squirtgun song "Another Sunny Afternoon". But once the vocals kick in you can tell that it's yet another Huntington original. Next they cover what is probably my favorite Darlington song "Judy Jetson". I thought it was a really cool idea to have Huntingtons cover a Darlington song, and Darlington cover a Huntingtons song ("Jackie Is An Atheist"). Overall the entire CD is poppy, and the Huntingtons songs are probably some of the poppiest ones I have heard from these guys. Also appearing on this split is the song "Let's Go To Haddonfield", a song that was originally supposed to appear on their full length "Get Lost". The song is about the Halloween movies, with sound clips from the films and all, I wonder why they were not allowed to put it out on a Tooth and Nail release? The only thing I didn't really like was that they put "It's Always Christmas At My House" on the CD, a song that was already released on a BEC Christmas compilation.
The Darlington songs were pretty good. I really liked their "Girltroversy" CD, but since that release they haven't really put anything out that compared to that one. I guess it was just the sound quality after the Huntingtons side that kind of took away from their side of this split. Their first song is called "Donna A." and it is about Donna A. of the Donna's. Pretty much all their songs are loves songs in some way or another. Their songs are very catchy, very poppy and very silly. I think the thing that really draws you into their songs is the quirky lyrics. Verses like, "slumber party at Stonehill U. I just wanna make out paint my fingernails glitter and kissy kiss smoochy smooch". I never really noticed it before but at times Darlington sounds a bit like older Pansy Division. If you've never heard older Pansy Division, don't bother.
Overall this is one really fun split. If you're a fan of pop punk then you're gonna have to get your hands on this release.
