And I was just about to give up on "Christian industrial". But I took a last shot on a new band and a new label, and wow am I happy!
Ill Omen Nation is probably a good deal more metal than industrial, but both are there, and they rock. There aren't tons of keyboards and just a few samples, but most of the drum programming provides the electronic element nicely. This also leaves center stage for the guitars -- right on! They remind me most often of Klank, and at times sounds as much like Rammstein as any band I've heard. "The Summit of Existence" ditches the electronic vibe almost entirely, sounding quite a bit like speed metal era Deliverance with a drum machine. Vocally, most of the time is spent with a blackish/deathy snarl, and on the whole this is about as aggressive an industrial band as I've heard in a long time. Industrial-influenced metal might even be the more appropriate term for this.
Lyrically quite a bit of this is personal and somewhat dark, but does also acknowledge God for what He is, and finds time to dip into the irreverent as well. My only complaint here is that the production (not professional, but not terrible either) sometimes finds the guitar sound a touch thin. Still, I take this cd over AP2, Level, the latest Klank, and most anything else the "industry" has put out in the past couple years. Order direct from Bloodtreaty Records -- you probably haven't before but I got good service, you should too!
