Straight-up metalcore played well but badly produced. The vocals are up front. Waaaay up front, relegating the instrumentation to the background. I like the use of guitar solos, something that's sorely lacking in most metalcore I've heard in past years. Comparisons to Corrosion Of Conformity and Blenderhead come to mind. I like the riffing, especially on "Fall Of The Dark Side", but once again the badly mixed vocals always seems to take away sorely from the overall vibe of the CD, otherwise this would have been an "8.5" rating easy. The lyrics are straight-up Christian, and with the clean vocals (again, heard over the instrumentation) easy to decipher. Otherwise, I would love to see these guys live, they sound like they put on an awesome heavy show. This is a band to look out for in the future.
