Vesuvius is a volcano. Awakening Vesuvius starts with a news reporter announcing an evacuation and a slew of eruptions. Assumed is that the reporter is talking about the Awakening Vesuvius, a five song EP that sold 1,000 self-released copies before being picked up by Strike First.
Awakening Vesuvius takes one through a short story done in a metal attack. The Awakening Vesuvius EP talks about wasted human lives as human sacrifices are done needlessly, how we believe that silence is terrifying, and that we have to distract ourselves. The lead vocalist sounds like he's screaming into the mic while being choked and cringing from the pain of the process. The guitars sound like hardcore slam or they can add a heavy melodic metal tale. Melodic Metal with urgency and throws in a borderline hardcore influence. There is also Metal breakdowns on the guitar's attack and drums push forward. This is a CD for one who likes a heavier story.
