This is a great album. Mark Farner has shown that he's still got that winning formula inside him, that made Grand Funk Railroad successful. This album is chock full of blues riffs, subtle melodies and real smooth vocals. This is a great sample of Southern rock - Jesus style. Mark's sound is not too distant to Darrell Mansfield. (Talk about a killer double bill! Naah, it would be too good to be true.) "Judgment Day Blues" and "Jesus Loves Me" rock the house down. This is genuine Southern, Midwestern, Harley-Davidson, good ole rock and roll. Buy a copy for a biker. If he doesn't get saved, he's at least gonna love the music. Seriously, this tape is a great tool for evangelism. It's got a big sticker on the front, which says "Formerly of Grand Funk Railroad." The music and lyrics are from the hip and they're real. There's no pretension or cheap answers, just real life stuff. "Jesus Loves Me" should please anyone in the church...well, almost. It sure is a boogien' tune. This ain't metal, but it sure is a great record. If you like Darrell Mansfield, Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Outlaws, Blackfoot, or Vision at all, you'll love this! The ballads, like "Isn't It Amazing?" have a fantastic production. It's perfect! Farner definitely knows how to achieve that mega-hit sound. Maybe he'll get Frontline Records noticed by the world, which will open up the doors for all the Frontline artists, like Bloodgood, The Altar Boys, Darrell Mansfield, Idle Cure, Shout, Mad At The World, and Da.
