Marod is a self made man. He produced, recorded, and mixed his entire project. He even managed to snag David Robinson, Sr., of the San Antonio Spurs, and his son, to contribute to the cause. Now, my only gripe with the project is no liner notes, no bio, no inside. Just a nice white sheet for me to doodle on. Great for little kids, but not for a reviewer trying to get the scoop on a new artist. Well, on to the record. Nice flows, street tales, and a legit background make for a good westside, dirty south, whatever coast record. Marod satisfies on all ends. Nice production, good stories, and discernible flow. This kid comes out of nowhere to make a name for himself in a crowded rap field. Fans of Gospel Gangstas, Fros' T, and Grapetree the entity must cop a copy. I particularly like the way the production doesn't stagnate. It's also not very stereotypical, blending back and forth between gangsta, hardcore, and some elements of hip hop! Since there is no bio, what the heck is a Marod?
