It's pretty simple to impress me when it comes to modern rock. I'm not sure why more bands aren't dropping my jaw. To their credit, Unified Front comes close, with their Creed-like heavy low end and pleasant vocals. You can hear one of their tracks ("Scar") on this issue's sampler CD, and judge for yourself. If this Kansas-based outfit keeps writing songs and reaching for the hook, I think they'll drop my jaw some day . . . or at least get my body moving.
