Maybe you have occasionally had one of those spectacular art film moments (one of those times where perhaps you were riding on a bus in New York with your face pressed against a window pane glistening with raindrops, and you thought to yourself, "This could totally be a scene in an art film,") where the only thing missing -- aside from the camera crew, and starving artist(e) budget -- was a really killer soundtrack.

Undoubtedly this soundtrack would be laced with threads from bands like New Order, Simple Minds, The Cure or Tears for Fears. Poetic lyrics would dance around themes of love, life and redemption. Words like "round around, the black and blue, play out this daily centrifuge, this solar orbiter undone, she moves encircled yet alone . . . " would drift by on glittering waves of effulgent synthesizers, cello, and electric guitars.

Indeed, all these qualities abound on Metropolis' International. The top notch production by Dez Dickerson, Brian Hardin, and Campuzano compliments the smart melodies created by lead singer Alexander Corday, and bass player / keyboardist whose only moniker is Texas. Timothy Hiber and Blake Osborne round out the band on cello, synthesizers and percussion. Eschewing current trends, Metropolis is making music that is contemporary yet timeless, and worthy of those art-film-soundtrack-moments in our life.

In December of 1995, the group, at this point named Satellite Circle, entered Platinum Post Studios near Orlando to record their debut EP, Fade. The EP was released in March…
