They've finally jumped the bandwagon. Mortification is now a self-proclaimed metalcore band. The album begins with an 8 part orchestral movement a la Believer and then the metalcore kicks in. This is quite a new sound for them and should be more marketable to the short hair kids. Their sound is more simplified with power chords and the vocals aren't death at all. In fact, they remind me of many NY tough guy bands. The drumming is excellent with a lot of double bass and there are some really cool effects. Check out "Buried into Obscurity" which could be the best song Mort. has recorded.
