The Mulchmen offer gritty surf/rockabilly instrumentals meant to be played loud in the car stereo. Louder Than Dirt could also be an alternative soundtrack to Ghost World, Pulp Fiction, or a Quentin Tarantino remake of Rebel Without A Cause. The noir imagery and vibe created by the Mulchmen's music is the point of the album, and they succeed with sonic tales of hipster adventure and dusty, rattlesnake romance.
