Hey, hey there kiddies! I know I don't do a lot of reviews - mainly cause I'm not a very professional writer - but I just got the new Overcome EP - "The Life Of Death" on Facedown Records. And let me tell you, it is 5 songs of the best hardcore I've heard in a long time!
I mean it's intense, it's hard, it's full of the Spirit, it's OVERCOME to the fullest degree! Now, you will notice a little more metal influence than on their last album, but that might be because the only original member is Jason Stinson -Vocalist. And believe me, that's not hard to figure out, because once the vocals come in, it's definitely Overcome.
This CD is so good, it's like Overcome never left, and now they are on a label that's main focus is on spreading the Word of Christ, and not a label that has sold out to the industry... But back to Overcome, the guitars scream metal, the drums have the same double kick action, and the voice screams hardcore up the wazoo.
Now, here's what you do. You go to www.facedownrecords.com, and you order this cd. And when it comes in, you lock yourself in a padded room, and you dance like you've never danced before. Then you warn your friends that Overcome is back, and they are ready to tell you about Christ like you have never been told before.
They also have a full length coming out in December, so look for that too. And, just keep your eye out for Facedown Records in general, 'cause they are doing good things with great bands. Anyway, all in all, I give the new Overcome EP the highest grade in the class.
