Panic is a five-piece Boston punk band with a self-titled EP on Bridge Nine Records.
Panic mixes dark lyrics with in-your-face punk rock, a lot like AFI. Panic's five blistering songs are over in less than 10 minutes, which may make them five of the shortest songs ever.
Musically, these guys are good at playing at an aggressive pace, but the songs all blend together with the incessant fast drums and screaming vocals. There's really not much variety, which is rare for their style of music.
As for the lyrics, they showcase very depressing themes such as constant feelings of worthlessness and suicide. The one bright lyrical moment may be in a line from "Our Choice is Made" that says, "Next time you see a friend falling, grab them and pull them by your side."
Panic's music showcases the dark side of punk rock, which has little hope in anything but friends. Their self-titled EP shows they can play five romping songs, but for the most their music tends to be more about the message than the music and their message is nothing people really need to hear.
