Persevere, a Baltimore-based Christian hardcore band, show a lot of talent on their demo. This is the best hardcore since the Warlord EP. Their sound is melodic hardcore with spoken word breaks and thrown in samples, and all four songs on the tape display the band's incredible ability to create mood and project energy. The lyrics are good, consisting mostly of personal exhortations to turn to Christ. The production is decent--surprising for a demo. The only complaint is that some of the drum sounds are off and sound weak sometimes. The band is scheduled to release an album in October. Expect great things from these guys.
