Well first off I've never been a big fan of 7" music. I still ordered this work because I wanted to hear new Persevere material. Well I got it and was disappointed somewhat. Not in Persevere, the song is definitely a killer song, but the recording quality is lacking. I really did not get into the new school sound of Positive Youth very much either, who crammed 4 songs onto their side of the record, while Persevere had only one song, it's a killer tune. A long song with the expected Persevere intro music we've come to know and love. Lyrics for "A Constant Rain Through Days Trying" are handled with that same Persevere spirit, full of passion, and hit home to what I feel is every listener out there. Bottom line if you get this record, you are gonna wear one side of it out, but then it's just one song, and so I feel this is best left to the diehard Persevere fans, like myself. Positive Youth will appeal to a lot of people out there, but I think their efforts really suffer from the low quality of this release.
