Is it metal? Not really, but it's definitely rockin' enough to warrant a review here. I'm talking about Rachel, Rachel, the new all-girl Rock band. Great harmonies, good rockin' guitars and drums, and polished 90's production, courtesy of Whiteheart's Billy Smiley. Cheryl Jewel handles lead vocals with total control and intensity. The ballads here are haunting and cool, with acoustic and electric interplay. The highlight of the album is the excellent cover of "Carry On My Wayward Son", a must buy for all old Kansas fans. This album is radio-ready, but don't hold that against them. These ladies have the chops to back up the great looks and the songwriting is definitely moving. Take Vixen and put them together with Wilson Phillips and you have the sound of Rachel, Rachel.
