This album cooks! I've heard it for the third time now and it's growing on me. It's the most listenable Saint so far! The sound is produced better, the songs are written better and there's more commercial appeal. No, I'm not saying that Saint is selling out. They're as heavy as ever. They're more articulate. You won't necessarily need a lyric sheet to follow Josh's commanding voice. One thing you can pray for: that I would have a chance to interview Rob Halford and Judas Priest. I can't wait to play some Saint for 'em and get their response. Wouldn't that be wild? Anyway, this Saint album is their best. It is as much an improvement over Time's End as Time's End was over Warriors of the Son. The leads are mixed high enough over the rest of the sound to distinguish clearly. There's a good drum sound on the album too. The instrumental sings up a storm, slicing through the air with melodic notes sent loudly from Dee Harrington's guitar. Gosh, this album smokes. I'll be honest, I think Saint's first two albums are hot 'n' heavy, but I never listen to 'em. I think I've found a Saint album I'll listen to now...a lot! This has got to be the next best thing to Whitecross on Pure Metal to date. I think Saint will blow some people away if they tour this material. Some of these songs, like "Through the Sky," have just awesome lead runs and rhythms that would shake up a crowd. "The War Is Over," the one Richard said was like a ballad, is still not as wimpy as Richard made it out to be, although it certainly is a change from previous Saint material. Buy this record!
