This collection of 13 right-on praise and worship tunes offers this part of the body of Christ (Christian rock 'n' rollers, headbangers, and thrashers) some music to put praise on its lips. Sounding somewhat like a Vineyard Worship album, the Sanctuary Praise Band, which includes Bob Beeman (piano), Jim LaVerde and Rod Van Beek of Jordan (acoustic guitars), Joshua Perahia (guitar), and Glen Mancaruso (drums), puts forth a very passionate, worshipful, and acoustic-based foundation for the lyrics. Jim LaVerde did a good job producing, by getting that feel into the music that makes it apparent that the voices aren't singing to the listener, but to the Lord. Many a listener will experience the same phenomenon. Some of the guest vocalists include: Dave Chumchal, who sings with Jim LaVerde's new band Showdown; Russell Painter; Robin DeBasauri, who sings for Jaguar (formerly known as Joshua); and Rod Van Beek of Jordan. Most of the songs have that casual, folk-flavored feel to 'em, making for an easy atmosphere to join along singing. The Vineyard influence is found not only in songs like "Hold Me Lord", but also in "The Blood Of Jesus", written by the violet burning's Mike Pritzl. Although there are better worship tapes available out there, this is a fine project that may open the door of worship for many a headbanger out there who may make worship a major focus of his or her life.
