Well, this next album I want to review is so hot and has so much controversy around it that I'm going to take two weeks to get into it, so be prepared to be continued.

The album is "Sin Disease" by the Scaterd Few. Not many people have heard of these guys because several Christian bookstores have pulled the album from the shelves because of "offensive lyrical content." But it seems that every review I have read on this album has been exceptional and even the drummer from the Crucified told me that this album is the hottest thing out.

The Scaterd Few had tried to publish something back in 1983 but no Christian label would touch it. Finally they have been published and they have been getting tons of response. It's a crazy little story, but the band has been together about a year now and in that amount of time they have managed to write, produce and publish this album.

The music is intense! It's an incredible collage of thrash, punk, jazz, reggae and art blended into beauty. The tape is creative and the music is top quality. They are in no way predictable because they can do it all; they can play all types of music, which shows them to be mature musicians.

The album is intelligent--way beyond the street level stuff. The vocals are some of the best I have heard by any band in my entire life, and the lyrical content is fascinating.

The message is there and it cuts deep (too deep for some), but it takes thought to see it. It's not vague or ambiguous, and it's not a passive album in any sense. You need to think and you need to understand it for yourself because it is very abstract in a productive fashion.

Warning: this album is not for virgin ears and not intended for those who see the world through the eyes of lollipop Christianity - don't even listen to it if you can't take confrontation or a challenge backed by conviction.

The album focuses on suicide, gang warfare, drinking, crack, hypocrisy, the televangelist, and it will also challenge your Christian walk.

The first song, "Kill the Sarx," will make your ears bleed, but the message is profound. Sarx means "flesh" in Greek, so starts the song: "Flesh for ears and flesh for eyes/ Deteriorize the godly disguise/ Like weird and gilley wasting away/ In the trance of their chameleon's messiachal gaze..."

Another song that stands out is "A Freedom Cry" - a total reggae track. It's a great song, and if you like reggae at all, then you'll love it! It is another profound song referring to Yeshua (Jesus) and Yahweh (God the Father).

The album is tremendous and gets five stars for both musical and lyrical content.

Opus 2005Reviewed by Jason MoreheadChristian music has come a long ways, but it wasn't too long ago that it was as derivative as you could possibly imagine. There was a time when I was incredibly skeptical of Christian music, and refused to use any adjectives like "groundbreaking" when describing it. That's why Sin Disease, the debut from Scaterd-Few is such an incredible album. Seamlessly melding punk, speed metal, funk, reggae,…Heaven's Metal #26Reviewed by Doug Van PeltAlarma! Records (a division of Frontline Music Group) is a record company...I'm a magazine publisher... What are they doing by releasing music as good as scaterd-few...trying to be my friend or something? A few words about this album: Raw, sincere, genuine, street-level, loud, original, creative, weird, artsy, punky, funky, and new. Definitely not everyone's cup of tea. Fans of The Lead,…
