When SF finally documented its sound with Sin Disease back in '90, it shocked with the full power of punk. Omega No. 5 comes along 12 years later with a refreshing slap in the face that recalls those days. The intricate jamming skills of Omar and Sam are missing here, but present is the frenetic and infectious energy this classic band was always known for, as well as a few familiar jaunts into tropical rhythms. Aural rawness is apparent on a casual listen, but unflinching and bristling truth is found in a deeper look at lyrics like "Camel Crawl." Where 1998's Grandmother's Spaceship failed to capture this essence, Omega No. 5 got it. Bravo!
