Fans of loud 'n' raunchy punk music with melodic sense will dig the nasty and jangly guitar tones played with attitude on RUAMI (pronounced "Are You, Am I?"). Tunes like "Earthmaker" and "Purity" show the attitude that feedback is better than silence. The guitar and bass tones are also often tuned down for a very grunge sound.
I was a bit turned off by the female vocals at first, because it's so unusual; but now I'm hearing them as fresh, innovative approaches to this style. To get your flashbacks to the early 80's punk scene, look to The Clergy. For a heavy approach to grunge, just go back to Applehead.
