i think most people would agree that they wouldn't expect these bands to do a record together. very weird. naturally the slackers portion is brilliant. it begins with a new recording of "sarah", and continues with "keep it simple", which is on the new ep, as well. those are both good songs, but i'd rather have some new/exclusive material (especially since i paid a ridiculous amount for both of these discs). all is not lost, though--there's a nice reggae cover of bob dylan's "i shall be released", and a spanish-sung, latin-music-oriented song called "donde fue". there's also "propaganda dub", which seems to be from a different recording than the one on the ep (it's tad slower, and has different drumming). pretty neat... i liked the first pulley record, but haven't cared much about them since. i think they're down to two original members. they cover minor threat's entire "salad days" ep for some reason. really, guys--why try? they do an especially poor job with the title track, and credit "good guys don't wear white" to minor threat, when it was actually a cover even when they did it. you should still get this for the slackers portion.
