The Sonshines

This three-song demo from the Great White North showcases the SONshines in a classic rock-radio vein. Well produced, the SONshines take a cue from '70s and '80s power/art rock bands like Kansas and Yes. "Without You" starts it off with low, easy acoustic guitar-and-vocal verse that builds to a heavily-accented, anthem chorus. A familiar theme of relying on God, not self, to get through life is the subject here. Track two, "Love Is," starts out heavy from the get-go - a full, commercial metal sound, completewith appropriate back up vocals and a catchy rhythm. Basically I Corinthians put to music, the song is both musically muscular and thematically well-built. The final cut is all acoustic that speaks of the quality of devotion in a relationship (either earthly or heavenly). It' only voice and guitar to start, with some cool light percussion (shakers and the like) added as the tune goes on.
