I think if I were a member of one of the bands cited on the publicity sheet, you know, in the "sounds like/for fans of" section, I'd be a little offended by being compared to this band. Who knows what AC/DC, The Cars, Thin Lizzy, or Cheap Trick would have to say about the whole affair.
Those Peabodys are in the down and dirty rock n'roll genre of rock, with a style that is slightly reminiscent of Squad Five-O's last album, but with none of Squad's energy, charisma, or talent. Their songs show some promise and they could probably rock the residents of a retirement home. But the ideas in the songs noodle on for way too long. Music of this style is meant to get in, kick your face all over the floor, and get out. I'm typically a fan of longer albums, given the general trend of barely 30 minute-long records these days. But this is one release that would have benefited from tightening up. The songs would have a much greater punch if they were sped up and a little shorter.
This isn't a terrible album, but it's nothing particularly noteworthy either. Check it out if you're a huge fan of this style of music. Otherwise, you'll be much better off picking up something else, say a copy of Back in Black.
