This Ohio-based group is sure to have an underground success with this project. The lyrics on the one hand are fun in their sometimes satirical outlook on life, and on the other hand are a slap in the face to Christians (and non-Christians) living in complacency.
One song which is painfully blunt is called "Godog", in which the band speaks out against treating God like a dog. "He gives us the very best as we pet Him on our laps/ but all He gets from us is useless table scraps."
"Eat And Run" is a fun song, charging us in the Body of Christ to ingest the Word (eat) and go tell the world of the Good News (run). Other songs with intriguing titles such as "No Surfin' In Hell", "Sowing Machine", "Hollywood Heaven", and the title track make this project complete. The music and lyrics are characteristic of punk, both equally equipped with serrated edges. There are no pithy sayings or Grammy nominations on Love Kills, but there is plenty of good high-speed thrashin' fun.
