In 2000, producers Steve Hindalong and Marc Byrd gathered together a group of artists from several labels and made a worship album of unique songs. That first City on a Hill album produced several hit songs, including "God of Wonders." Over the next few years, they released several more City on a Hill albums, including a Christmas album, City on a Hill: It's Christmas Time. The project featured traditional as well as original Christmas songs. As with the other albums in the series, the focus was on creating a worshipful experience.
Hindalong and Byrd have teamed up again to produce Come Let Us Adore Him, a Christmas album that is bound to draw comparisons and contrasts to City on a Hill: It's Christmas Time. This new album features artists from Reunion Records and Essential Records, which is not as diverse as the previous one but still works well. The song "Manger Throne" performed by Third Day is on both projects. This album also works to create not just another Christmas album, but a worshipful experience. This is one of those rare Christmas CDs that makes you think about what Christmas truly means and the impact of Christmas.
Highlights include "Here With Us" an original song performed by Joy Williams, "Messiah Has Come" performed by Cindy Morgan, and "Mary's Prayer" performed by Bebo Norman with Christine Byrd.
Once again, Hindalong and Byrd have created a worshipful Christmas experience. This is an album that we need to help us remember the true reason for the season and the depth of what happened that faithful Christmas morning.
