What could follow the overwhelming popularity of the WWJD bracelet fad? How about a whole line of devotionals, a Bible, and an album of Christian music? The disc includes the popular title cut by Big Tent Revival, along with 14 other songs with the underlying message to be alive with Christ, mirror His life and seek His direction; in short, "what would Jesus do?"
The record is a mural of new and old names to Christian music, with much of the music being of alternative or modern sound. The album includes familiar names such as Newsboys, Steven Curtis Chapman, dc Talk, Geoff Moore and the Distance, Audio Adrenaline, Big Tent Revival, and Rebecca St. James. Along with these are new artists quickly picking up in popularity on the music scene including, Smalltown Poets, Bleach, Considering Lily, The Waiting, Sarah Masen, Grammatrain, and Skillet.
Big Tent Revival's "What Would Jesus Do?" is the anthem of the album, asking:
What would Jesus do, walkin' in my shoes, Workin' at my at my job, going to my school? I hear people say, "Jesus is the Way," I believe and that is why I'm asking you, "What would Jesus do?"
The song questions life and the decisions with which we are faced, but the answer is simply given and then left for us to respond to it.
The CD is enhanced, making it possible for most computer users (Mac and PC) to view the NIV Bible Library and MAC Bible, good for looking up the verses that the artists add with their message, further enhancing the truth behind the songs.
The wide variety of artists and great songs make this is an excellent album. But the real beauty is in the truth of it. Patience, love, friendship, hope, and all the questions and decisions in life can all be answered the same, no matter how different they seem. In the confusion and difficulty we face in those times, the four letters stretched across the rainbow bracelets bring a truth and reality to our problems and ask us to simply remember, "what would Jesus do?"
