There are some disks that just throw images into your brain. While listening to Acceptance, I couldn't help but see teen-movie soundtrack-makers lining up to buy some of these tunes. This album has got it where it counts if one is of the college-rock/love song persuasion. The vocal arrangements are extremely catchy. I know. I was humming in my car all afternoon after reviewing this one. From the first song, this album maintains a distinct pattern; upbeat pop rock that's got some punch but isn't afraid to show its softer side. Here's the downside: while MTV execs would do well to give Acceptance some rotation time, they wouldn't be introducing anything new into the arena of Top 40 rock. In other words, it's standard format but surprisingly high quality. If you liked SecondsMinutesHours by Crumb, you'll dig this album. Try it out for yourself. You've probably got a used cd store you can punt it off to if you think my review is off.
